Spaceout.VR
Your music, your photos, your own corner of the universe. A mobile social VR platform that turned everyday digital content into places people could explore.
Your digital life became aplace you could visit.
We designed and developed a mobile VR experience built around the things people already loved. Music, photos, videos and social connections became the material for a personal Space Station.
Spaceout.VR brought music visualization, games, virtual travel and social discovery into one app. Our work connected the experience people saw with the systems behind it, from navigating immersive environments to streaming content and maintaining profiles, preferences and connections.
A space that felt like you
Every user received a personal Space Station. Connected media gave it character, bringing Facebook photos, music and video into a shared virtual setting. A profile became somewhere to spend time, explore and discover what other people were into.
Step inside the music
The Music Virtualizer surrounded listeners with moving patterns and light that responded to their tracks. RHYTHM.VR brought that energy into play, combining SoundCloud streaming with a rhythm coaster, collectible gems and obstacles. Music shaped both the atmosphere and the action.
Follow your curiosity
Users could move between personal stations, explore 360° videos and discover places through Google Street View. Music, travel and other people’s media lived within the same experience, giving visitors different reasons to keep looking around.
A universe that fit in your pocket
We designed for the smartphone people already carried. Gaze-based navigation made the experience accessible inside a mobile headset, while the backend connected media streams, generated scenes and kept each user’s world persistent. Across iOS and Android, the challenge was to make a complex social platform feel simple to enter.
