ROC+
A climbing wall that responds to the person on it. ROC+ combines motion tracking, projected challenges and adaptive route generation to bring interactive play into indoor climbing.
The wall becomes the game.
ROC+ adds a digital layer to a physical climbing wall. Projected routes, targets and visual cues turn the surface into a space for training, exploration and competition, with the climber’s movement driving the experience.
We brought together motion tracking, route logic, interactive visuals and gameplay systems. The challenge was connecting what happens on the wall with what appears on it, while keeping the experience understandable to someone concentrating on their next move.
Give the wall another route
Free Climb uses AI-generated routes designed around the climber’s progression and style. Projected highlights show the path across the existing holds, allowing the digital challenge to change without rebuilding the wall. Route selection becomes part of an evolving training experience.
Follow the movement
Motion tracking connects the climber to the system. Computer vision follows body position and movement, providing information about how a route is approached. We connected that tracking with the visual experience so the wall could respond as the session unfolded.
Make the next hold a target
Capture Mode turns climbing into a race to reach projected targets. Bouldering Mode adds route highlights and hints to support a different kind of challenge. Alongside Free Climb, these modes give the same wall several ways to play, with competition, leaderboards and progression extending the experience between sessions.
Look back at the climb
The experience continues after coming off the wall. Video replays and session reports let climbers revisit their movement and follow their progress over time. For instructors, those records provide a shared reference for discussing a route, a difficult section or the next training goal.
