My Molecularium

Aim. Launch. Bond. A mobile game that turns building molecules into a challenge of timing, precision and discovery.

My Molecularium project

Chemistry, one good shot ata time.

We developed My Molecularium for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Molecularium Project, bringing its world of atoms and molecules into a game for phones and tablets.

Players aim their devices, launch atoms and assemble molecules in 3D. Our work brought the controls, gameplay and mobile interface together around a simple idea: make molecular structure something people can explore through play.

Atoms you can aim

Each level gives you a molecule to build and a supply of atoms to build it with. Shoot an atom into place and the bond snaps if the chemistry is right; miss, and it drifts off. Learning the rules becomes the only way to get a better score.

Take aim

Move your device to line up a shot. Pull back, choose the launch speed and release. Gyroscopic aiming and a laser guide turn the phone into part of the controls, making each bond a small test of coordination.

From water to caffeine

The game moves through 33 molecules across three levels of increasing difficulty. Familiar substances become structures players can build and inspect, with chemical and structural formulas alongside the 3D models. As the molecules grow, so does the challenge of placing each atom.

Make the next shot count

Time bonuses, achievements and leaderboards give players reasons to try again. We focused on connecting touch input, device movement and visual feedback so that aiming, launching and seeing the result felt like one continuous interaction. The same core experience ran on iOS and Android.
