Mission G-Rok
Skate through the future. Rescue your crew. Take on Smogorex. A mobile action platformer bringing hip-hop, environmental adventure and a world of original characters together.
A skateboard, a soundtrackand a world to save.
We developed Mission: G-Rok for GreenROKS, the youth entertainment venture backed by Russell Simmons. The game followed an aspiring hip-hop artist and his friends through futuristic cities threatened by the villain Smogorex.
Our work brought the characters into motion through side-scrolling gameplay, responsive controls and a progression system built around missions, collectibles and power-ups. Graphics by Joseph Agresta gave the adventure its visual identity.
Rescue the crew
G-Rok’s best friend Binz has been captured in Beastville, New York. Reaching him means crossing hostile cities, avoiding traps and taking on Smogorex’s minions. The rescue gives the action a clear destination, with friends to recover along the way.
Keep moving
Skate, jump and flip through platforms and obstacles. We focused on the relationship between player input and character movement, making timing central to the experience. Hoverboards, weapons and power-ups added new possibilities as players progressed.
A country reimagined
The adventure moved through futuristic environments inspired by US cities, from Smoggywood to Beastville. Across 13 stages and 160 levels, new routes, enemies and collectibles gave players reasons to keep exploring.
Hip-hop behind the mission
Def Jam cofounder Russell Simmons backed GreenROKS with the ambition to connect with young audiences through music, storytelling and play. Mission: G-Rok brought that idea into a mobile adventure, putting an aspiring rapper at the center of a quest to save his friends and their world.
