Kung Fu Panda 2

Six games. One very competitive panda. We developed a suite of browser minigames for the Kung Fu Panda 2 promotional campaign, bringing Po’s humor and energy into quick, playable challenges.

Kung Fu Panda 2 project

Big-screen personality.Small-screenchallenges.

Working with SMERC for DreamWorks, we developed six casual games that gave fans another way to spend time with Po beyond the film.

The collection moved from dumpling challenges to hula hoops, baseball, basketball, ping-pong and rock, paper, scissors. Familiar activities gave players an easy starting point, while timing, reflexes and Po’s personality kept each game distinct.

Six games, six ways in

Kung Fu Dumpling Warrior, Hula Challenge, Home Run Derby, Hoops Madness, Ping Po Challenge and Rock, Paper, Scissors formed the suite. Each offered a different challenge within the same playful world, giving fans a choice of what to try next.

Timing is everything

A well-timed swing, an accurate shot, a quick reaction. The games built on actions players could understand immediately. Our development work focused on making those inputs feel responsive, with clear feedback connecting each move to what happened on screen.

Make room for the funny

Po’s appeal comes as much from his enthusiasm and awkwardness as his kung fu. The games carried that character into everyday competitions, where hula hoops and table tennis could become their own small tests of mastery.

Another round was always close

The collection was built around short sessions and simple controls. Players could jump into a challenge, get a feel for it and try again, or move to another game. It gave the film campaign an activity fans could return to.
